TIS THE SEASON TO TREAT YOURSELF TO A NEW COIN!
Normally many people go away, are absorbed in family events, or just relax and do not play coins over the Christmas Holidays. This year it is totally different. Seems many people do want coins under their trees.
We knew something was up when our sister company-Legend Auctions held an extremely successful sale last week in Las Vegas. We added HUNDREDS of NEW bidders (registrants even more). ALL the Nickels SOLD and other coins in the sale saw strong bidding and many record prices were set. Over 90% of the auction sold to collectors. This activity spilled over into Legend’s regular business. Here is a fun fact: Legend Numismatics picked up two people from the auction who are brand new to coins. They both spent six figures in the sale. One came back Wednesday and spent an addition $500,000.00 directly with Legend. We do very much see collectors coming back in one at a time. New collectors started trickling in a few weeks after the election.
Legend Numismatics isn’t praying for a good 2017 coin market, we are confident it will happen. We also expect this years FUN Show to be better. Its not competing with the NY Foreign Show that takes away a thousand plus people including many US collectors.

A special note-this report is being written on the 25th. Legend Numismatics has SOLD $155,000.00 to THREE collectors today via email. Plus, we had a very busy Saturday. Three months ago this would not have happened. Activity IS picking up!

We are striving to have LESS then 10% of coins with reserves. Right now, if you see a coin opening at the LOW estimate-that is a reserved coin.
A NOTE: We know many of you do NOT like paying 17.5% buyers fee. Unfortunately to stay competitive we must use it. Do NOT ever think we make 17.5%. The bigger and better the collection or coin is-the LESS the auction house makes. Even the biggest auction players have been know to give 112.5% for single six figure to million dollar coins (its actually a loss leader). Plus, if you had any idea how much it takes to run an auction house (travel, insurance, advertising, payroll, the catalogs, etc) you would fully understand buyers fees.
