MID JUNE REPORT

A GOOD WEEK

Things are still humming along well for us. Considering the week before we SOLD a record $3,300,000.00 (no million dollar coins), we knew we’d come no where near that record level again for along time! Can’t even say we sold many coins over $10,000.00 this past week, but we did sell a bunch of mid range coins. We had strong web site sales Saturday through Tuesday. Things were slow the rest of the week. Might be the start of the summer doldrums, although we still have huge Want Lists who will buy the coins any time we find one. We did ship out many neat coins that were not on our web site like a 2C 1864 PCGS PR65RB CAC, 50C 1916S PCGS MS65 CAC, $1 1890CC PCGS MS64+ DMPL CAC, a $20 1857 PCGS AU58 CAC, ALL GEM coins priced UNDER $10,000.00 (this is why working w/a dealer like us is so important). It is still as easy as ever to sell great quality collector oriented coins under $100,000.00.

A NEW HOT TOPICS IS NOW POSTED!

WATCH GOLD

We have seen and heard many rumblings about gold lately. The big guys (like financier George Soros and several hedgies we know are buying bullion gold BIG time in various ways. They are the “smart” money that usually moves in before the rise. Seeing this and seeing what is NOT available, we have been VERY aggressive in telling any one who will listen: BUILD A GOLD TYPE SET TODAY! Its your BEST value. You can pick and choose what you want and your not stuck waiting for a certain date.

Other opportunities in gold: NON CAC generics are deep in the dumper now-pay as close to the bids as you can. If you don’t know a bid, ask your dealer what it is. PCGS CAC coins:  Semi generics like $5 Indians in MS65  (which got over smacked down) are hard find-but will have the fastest pop up with even the slight hint of a real move by gold.  We suggest buying all you can in Indian gold in MS64 and higher (things like $5 1912, or a $10 1913 MS64 and higher etc).  $2.5 Indian Gold in GEM is dirt cheap-they were selling for $2,800.00 to $3,300.00 back in 2009-2012. And better Early gold coins which are impossible to come by and are still undervalued. We know if gold moves $100.00 up all these areas will have overnight demand/price increases. What wait?

Other things to do in gold:

G $1 1880-1889 66-67.

MS 64 $2.5 Indian Set

P Mint $2.5 Indians in 64 or 64.

P Mint $5 set 1900-1908 MS64 or 65

$10 Indians P Mint set MS64/65.

There are so many projects that can be done that can be completed in gold. The key is to buy THE BEST QUALITY YOU CAN AFFORD. Unless you are a real bottom feeder, BUY PCGS CAC GOLD ONLY. These coins will have the easiest and BEST resale values. There really IS a difference. Just look at ANY major auction from the last 6 years. While NON CAC gold coins crumbled, things like MS66 CAC Saints held up. If you wish to start a project or just want to buy some nice gold, call or email George at: legend@legendocin.com.

LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTIONS

MORE BREAKING NEWS!

LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTIONS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE CONSIGNMENT OF THE PHIL FLANNAGAN COLLECTION. HIGHLIGHTS ARE A KILLER MINI 1795 SILVER SET AND A DOZEN TONED MONSTER MORGANS THAT RIVAL THE BEST THAT EXIST!

This past week, we flew out to see our long time friend Phil Flanngan. We picked up the last of his great collection. We’ve been working exclusively with Phil for 30 years! He had a COMPLETE Bust Dollar collection (yes, he had an 1804-the TYIII AU58) and we built him a monster Territorial Gold Collection we sold off a few years ago. His coins all were and are of the very best quality and eye appeal.

EVERY coin in the Flannagan Collection we are going to offer in September has been off the market for a MINIMUM of 22 years! He has a dozen killer TONED MORGANS. One in particular  is a MEGA MONSTER $1 1882S NGC MS66 toner. We paid $1,000.00 for it in 1987 when MS65 Morgans were like $100.00. We immediately turned down $2,000.00 for it back then! We have named the coin Mother Natures Best as we rank it as one of the all time greatest toners EVER! We had been so mesmerized by that coin all these years (we do keep a pic of it in our office), we completely forget we had sold him a dozen other MONSTER toners! We strongly believe all his toners will sell for record prices. These pieces will be in our Sept Regency Sale.

Do not fear, we will NOT overload the toner market. The Northern Lights Collection will be sold over 6 auctions. We will have about 30 toners total in our September Regency Sale. Sorry, are being extra strict on accepting any toners for September at this point-they really have to be super special. Even if you don’t care for toners, once your see these two collections, we think you’ll change your mind!

One other highlight of the Flannagan Collection: a very choice mini 1795 silver set. The Half Dollar was once written up by Walter Breen as a Specimen (we do not think it is-but it has one heck of a strike). There are many other high quality misc. coins included in his holdings we will be selling. As soon as we have lists and images, we’ll make them public.

We will have all the Flannagan and Northern Lights coins on display at the ANA Show in August and at Long Beach in September. We will have a few selected highlights of each collection at the July Baltimore Show.

Our September Regency Sale will be one heck of a sale. If you want to sell your coins along side of these special coins-call or email us now! Space is now very limited and we have some serious consignments in the works! Contact Julie Abrams: julie@legendauctions.com or Greg Cohen: greg@legendacutions.com. Generous cash advances offer-no deal too big!
