$1 1871-CC PCGS AU58 ELIASBERG/GARDNER

$75,000.00

For sure this is one of the top survivors of this underrated date. Only the Bel Air AU58 and the Morelan  MS64 are finer. Bold surfaces are surprisingly clean overall. Using a strong glass you’ll only find a few light lines-no whacks or problems.  We do believe this coin was lightly dipped long ago. Not only is this coin lustrous, it is clearly lightly prooflike (no imagination needed). Both sides are a lively deep champagne/lavender color. The coin is NOT dull or drab. Miss Liberty and the details are extremely well struck and show almost no wear. Until we bought it, this coin was housed in a NGC MS61 holder (included with the coin). Our grade of the coin actually is a 58+, but 58 works. The eye appeal is excellent! PCGS 4, NGC 8, CAC 3 (only one higher-the MS64). NO PCGS CAC 71CC AU58 has ever been sold via auction. As an MS61 NGC, this coin has a price history of $58,750.00 04/2017 and 82,250.00 06/2014. We KNOW this coin is now in the right holder and will appeal to the pickiest CC collector. You can’t beat the pedigree of this coin. Out side of Bruce Morelan’s Collection (which Legend exclusively built) and the Norweb NGC MS64, and the Bel Air coin (which is now in the #2 all time collection we are building), there is NO other 71CC that is better. There is one other PCGS CAC  AU58 we know of-and that is locked away in major CC set. Take our word on it, we know just about every MS Seated Dollar that exists!  All the hard work is done for you here. Plus, you will forever have the prestige of the fact this coin was owned by two of the greatest collectors EVER-Eliasberg/Gardner.
