Proof Trade Dollars have long been one of our favorite series. We build the finest ever set (including the 84+85 for our partner Bruce and then built one for Mr Simpson). To us, these are such cool coins. This coin is a VERY nice example of a GEM Proof. Bold shimmering mirrors are deep and beam from all over. If you twirl the coin the mirrors melt into a liquid mercury type watery roll. The mirrors are clean, have good clarity, and are bold in reflection. A light splash of original gold is evenly splashed all over. There are NO problems. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are sharply struck. The eye appeal is pleasing! ONLY 700 were ever minted. PCGS 15, NGC 7, CAC 2. Here is a shocker-NO PCGS PR65 CAC piece has ever been sold at auction. An NGC CAC piece sold for $7,050.00 08/2017. The last regular NON CAC PCGS PR65 did sell for $7,500.00 08/2017. NOTE: the last PCGS PR66 CAC to sell brought $28,200.00 05/2015. Got all that?
