SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. 1887S is another date that hardly ever comes toned (especially so pretty). This coin is backed up in both quality and color by PCGS (its in the Secure Plus holder and has coveted +) and CAC (the green bean).
The obverse is delightfully covered by a beautiful slightly mottled mix of pale green/pale blue/pale gold colors. We grade these colors MS65.6. The reverse has deep but vivid gold that frames the peripheries. An intense booming luster shows off the colors.
The surfaces overall appear clean. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is phenomenal for an 1887S!
Even with out color, an 87S in MS65 is not easy to locate these days. PCGS 327, NGC 141, CAC 21.
