10C 1798 PCGS MS64

  Clearly this is one of prettiest, HIGH END, and most quality oriented Early Bust Dimes we have seen in quite some time-even after viewing the Pogue coins. Legend originally placed this coin in a major Type set we were building for a very discriminating buyer. Circumstances caused him to sell his coins. We had placed it with a collector inventory who now is moving into another area. This coin needs a great LONG TERM home!!!

The surfaces are amazingly clean and smooth. There are NO hits or lines. What you do see with a strong glass-several interesting die cracks and some faint die clashing. A surprisingly strong luster beams from all over. We grade the reverse full MS65. Gorgeous and totally original colors of royal blue/burnt orange/gold/purple/pale violet all swirl endlessly all over. The colors are mesmerizing! Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do stand out boldly. The eye appeal is completely heart pounding!

PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 2. Obviously, this is the ONLY MS64+ graded anywhere. Until Pogue, NO PCGS CAC piece has ever sold at auction. The Pogue coin realized $82,250 in May 2015. No, we’re not being vain, this is a BETTER coin than the Pogue piece that recently sold. You just do not see great looking Early Bust coins like this offered unless a huge old time collection is sold. We doubt you will ever see any Bust Dime as colorful as this offered in the next several years. If you are building a GEM Type or Bust Dime Collection, this coin is a MUST BUY!!!!
