Now for something different. This coin stood out as way too nice for us to pass up. Knowing we don’t like many Mercs, you KNOW this coin is going to be special and way above average. Superior surfaces are incredibly clean and have a satiny smooth texture. Even using a strong glass there is nothing disappointing to see. A strong satiny like luster beams from all over. Both sides are a mix of original white and original pale reddish gold colors. Most important, Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck (yes the bands are fully rounded) and stand out. The eye appeal is wonderful. PCGS 39, NGC 10, CAC 12 (we’re assuming there has been a coin or two resubmitted). PCGS has graded 12 higher. The last PCGS piece to sell in auction was a NON CAC.
