Most important, this piece lacks the dark stains so many 1810’s seem to have. Both sides are exceedingly clean and smooth. The planchet has no problems either. There s alight luster/gloss that is totally original (this coin has not been brushed or waxed). Both sides are a wonderful even chocolate brown color. The reverse has some faint hints of original Mint Red. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have crisp full strikes. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 3, NGC 2, CAC 1. this piece is from the greatest collection of Large Cents ever formed-Naftzger. Even though it is tied for finest graded, our guess-it might be the finest. The last record of any PCGS MS65BN selling was back in 09/2009. That piece was stained and brought a whopping $149,500.00. While a bit extreme, we strongly feel the market has valued the coin offered here at an absolute bargain price!
