Its no secret one of Legends favorite coins is earlier Large Cents. If we could keep most of the coins we sell-this one would not be posted here! This coin is a tremendous example for an 1812. It is not only SUPER HIGH END, it is one of the few chances you’ll ever see the date offered!
Outrageously clean surfaces have no abnormalities-especially in the planchet. A teenie OLD tick is hidden in the field. A bright ‘gloss” beams from both sides. The color is an ORIGINAL deeper brown-but NOT dark. You can actually see some faint hints of Mint Red on the reverse. This coin definitely has NOT been messed within any way. Miss Liberty and the details are incredibly struck and of course stand out. The eye appeal is just stunning!
PCGS 8, NGC 0, CAC 1. PCGS has only graded a 65+66 higher. You think this is solid proof as to the rarity of this coin: the last one sold in auction was back in 2006 (for $20,125.00) before this exact coin sold in 01/2014 for $35,250.00. This coin will make a great addition to ANY Large Cent or Type Collection. It also maybe one of the few opportunities you ever will have to buy a GEM Classic Head PCGS CAC!
