1C 1821 PCGS MS63 RB BLUE LAKE

$35,000.00

We do consider this coin okay for the grade. Keep in mind, these do NOT come looking so great. Overall, the surfaces are okay and are not beat up. Using a strong glass all we can find is a scattered tick or two and fleck or two. There actually is a hint of prooflike mirrors. Some luster can be seen too. The color is a deeper faded red with patches of brown scattered around. The reverse has a surprising amount of Mint Red. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is acceptable. PCGS 2, NGC. PCGS has graded only 1 coin finer. The last auction record for one of these selling was back in 2013, where one brought $28,200.00.  The extreme rarity of this date and grade can NOT be overstated.  This date fir sure is one of the “silent stoppers” for the series. Opportunity could not knock any louder here!
