1C 1823 PCGS MS62BN BLUE LAKE

$49,500.00

We are not sure why CAC did not bean this extremely rare piece. It is clearly full MS and we grade it choice as well. Beyond excellent surfaces adorn this coin. Even using a strong glass we see no real imperfections. We think maybe (but we are not sure), this coin is totally original but possibly (we are not so sure) was lightly camel hair brushed long ago to remove some gunk. The luster is subdued-which is how these come. Both sides are a deeper brown color. There are a few small patches of darker toning, but no spots. Miss Liberty and the detail are sharply struck. The high points are clean and smooth. For a 62, we think the coin is properly graded. The eye appeal is pleasing! PCGS 3, NGC 0. PCGS has graded only 2 coins finer. These are so tricky to price-as an AU58 once sold for $44,000.00 in 2015. The current Collectors Universe Value of $46,500.00 seems too low. The Blue Lake owner feels based in true rarity, this coin should be worth $50,000.00 minimum-and he has looked all over for nice MS pieces. One thing we do know, you won’t be able to get get another one anytime soon! Opportunity knocks so loud here it is deafening!
