This lovely piece is ex Eric Newman. Does not say it on the holder, but we do have the tag.
Its actually one of the few really nice and totally original examples of the date we have seen in quite a while. Overall, the surfaces have just a few very minor ticks and lines scattered around. There is NO evidence of cleaning or even dipping anywhere. A surprisngly strong luster illuminates a mix of deeper orange/deep gold colors. There are NO spots and this coin is not “dirty”. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck and show little signs of wear. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 116, NGC 319, CAC 38. This coin originally sold for $4,993.00 in 2014. We paid more for it, not because of the pedigree, but because it is a wicked nice coin. In fact, if we had not been focused on so much of the Type, we would have bought at the sale!
