This coin is actually better looking then the lone MS65! We passed up buying that coin for the Simpson Collection 3X-and we have NO regrets. 1920 Saints are famous for coming plain old miserable. This coin clearly is above average!
For a 1920, this coin has surprisingly strong and booming luster. There are some tiny frost breaks and small scuffs, but nothing big to hurt the grade. Both sides are a totally ORIGINAL even gold color. There is a faint touch of toning on the high points and some mint grease dots scattered about. ALL colors are ORIGINAL. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have really exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 757, NGC 398, CAC 50. PCGS has graded only 13 coins MS64+. The lone MS65+ (a NON CAC) sold for $86,250.00. We can see the real MS64+ pieces (like this) one day being worth $25,000.00+. There just are NOT many nice 1920 Saints out there.
