Of all the GEM MS65 1924D Saints we have ever seen, this coin is the NICEST MS65. We hunted it down to buy it after spending 6 months making offers. Why PCGS did not designate this an MS66, we do not know.
If this were a 24P, it would be a MS65+ easy. There are two teenie planchet chips on the lower right reverse-otherwise, the coin is amazing clean. The surfaces are sleek yet it does have a semi satiny texture. A bold luster shows off totally ORIGINAL gold colored surfaces. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is BOLD!
PCGS 7, NGC 10, CAC 3 (no MS66 are CAC). NO PCGS/CAC piece has ever sold in an auction. We believe this piece should be worth $100,000.00. Most 24D’s are yuckie! This coin is more than worthy of the FINEST collection.
