50C 1815/2 PCGS AU58

Even the few MS pieces that exist can not compare to this coins outstanding quality! After examining it carefully, we seriously wonder just how much it really was handled. The wear is ever so slight. Overall, the surfaces are the epitome of perfection. That includes even when using a really strong glass. A decent luster can actually be seen. Both sides are evenly blanketed by a warm mix of totally original deep olive/pale purple/deep gold colors. This is NOT a dull or drab coin. There are no discolorations or black patches on the high points. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. The eye appeal is very nice! PCGS 21, NGC 29, CAC 4 (only an MS64 is beaned higher). Possibly 7 coins are graded higher (as we said, possibly). This has forever been considered the key date “stopper” for the series. Prior to this coin selling at auction, no 1815/2 in AU58 PCGS CAC has ever traded that way. The rarity of this date and grade with a bean can not be overstated. If you are a serious Bust Half Collector you already know this coin will be a tremendous addition to your collection-even a MS collection!
