50C 1870 PCGS PR66 CAC

1870 is not common at all and it is super difficult to find in GEM or finer. When we saw this beauty, we had to own it! Shimmering mirrors beam from all over. They have strong clarity, cleanliness, and reflection. As note: only with a really strong glass and looking hard can you find some scattered light lines. When you twirl this coin it looks like a freshly made sheet of glass. Both sides are bathed by a natural mix of navy/olive/golden brown/purple/pale maroon colors. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and do have thick frost. The eye appeal is great! 1000 were minted, but it is unknown how many got melted (due to poor sales). PCGS 5, NGC 8, CAC 2. PCGS has graded NONE higher. Prior to this coin appearing on the market, the last 1870 PCGS PR66 CAC to sell brought $11,750.00 01/2014. more proof as to the fact these do NOT appear often.
