H.10 1857 PCGS MS67

Even though we have built the all time finest ever MS Seated Dime set (Law /Simpson set), we must say, we doubt we’ve seen many coins close to this pieces extraordinary quality. We fully grade this coin an MS67.8+.  We can not say why PCGS did not + it  (from what we know it was a  cross over). We looked this coin over and over and found NO flaws. Even using a strong glass yielded NOTHING. The luster is strong and enlivens the totally original pale olive/silver colors. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have crisp full strikes. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 9, NGC 15, CAC 11. The last one to sell in auction brought $3,290.00 in 05/2016. There is no question in our minds this coin was carefully stored since it left the Mint over 159 years ago! This is a very special GEM 1857 Half Dime.
