The activity we experienced this past week should have happened last week (post ANA Show). Guess the that many people were away or just not paying attention to the coin market. We had figured okay, the real doldrums had hit and we’re toast through the middle of September. NOT! Things could not have been more active.
We sold a five figure coin each day. We can only mention three of the five figure sales. We sold a 50C 1807 Draped Bust PCGS MS64 CAC, $20 1911 PCGS MS66 CAC and our gorgeous $20 1857 PCGS MS64+ CAC (this was really a six figure sale). If you notice, two of the three we listed were gold (as were two of the others we can not post). Obviously, these were not our lone sales. In fact as we are writing this we are working a significant six figure SILVER Coin sale (now a closed and done deal)
One thing we were shocked by, coins BELOW $10,000.00 sat around. Our NEWPS of cheaper coins did not sell well. It can’t be the wrong mix as we have some really sweet and cheaper priced gold. Through out the entire summer cheaper gold sold very strong. We think its just the market doing what it does and cycling (going on and off). We’ll see what action the upcoming week offers. One thing was for sure, we did NOT expect the strong activity from this past week.
LEGEND HAS A NEW HOME IN LONG BEACH-TABLE 601
After a year or two of being “orphaned” in a hard to find location, we are now ” movin on up”! Legend will now make Long Beach an anchor show for our business. Along with Legend Auctions we are now up front with the big guys at table 601. Yes, the principals of Legend will be there Thursday and Friday to buy and sell.
We will have a stunning display of coins for sale-so stop by! If you can not make it, we’ll still be posting NEWPS starting Saturday AM September 10th. We congratulate Collectors Universe on how hard they worked to make the magic happen again at the show.
