1889 $3 Gold PCGS MS65+ (CAC)
$20,000.00
We love this VERY HIGH END GEM!
Superior surfaces are super clean and smooth. The surfaces also display semi-prooflike mirrors (no imagination needed). There is no question this coin was never messed with in any way. The reverse has a few light copper splashes to prove it. Overall, the color is a mild original gold with a blush of faint orange gold. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is dreamy!
Only 2300 were minted. PCGS 31, NGC 16, CAC 4. PCGS has graded 5 in MS65+. NO PCGS CAC pieces have been sold via major auction. Somehow there is a Collectors Universe value of $22,500.00. Do NOT think this is a common date like 1878, which has a pop of 223 in MS 65 and 24 in MS65+.
We think this coin is an exceptional value as well as a great coin to add to any GEM set!
