END OF DECEMBER 2015

LEGENDS OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY DECEMBER 31ST AT 1 PM  AND WILL REOPEN MONDAY JANUARY 4TH AT 9 AM.

ITS HOT INSIDE AND OUT HERE!

We had expected to be shutting down for the year now. NOT! For an inexplicable reason we have been too busy buying and selling coins. In fact, since December 1, its been busier than the entire month of September. Don’t know if its the crazy 70 degree record outside temps heating things up or what. Can’t say we know of any thing radical that has happened to the coin market in the past 3 weeks. So due to strong demand, we’re going to remain open through December 31st. This week we have posted a small group of NEWPS.
Last week we expected things to be quiet. Instead we sold a lot of coins. The two highlights were the 1C 1864L PCGS PR65BN CAC (we actually had 3 serious inquiries on it), the 25C 1781CC PCGS AU55 and a monster J-60 $1 1836 PCGS PR64+ CAC that was never posted on our site just to name 2 coins. Of course we sold a lot of better MS Gold. We did sell two more significant Want List coins-an areas we had been extremely dry on until now. As of this writing (Christmas Day, we sold 3 coins off the web)! Five figure single coin purchases were not uncommon.
We think this week things will finally wind down for some typical year end peace and quiet. But then the FUN Show auction does not seem to have as many wild coins as usual which may have people out hunting early. Also, since Legend happens to offer one of the ONLY ALL PCGS CAC inventories with the coolest coins in the biz, so we get a lot more traffic and sell more then other dealers if there is the slightest market improvement. Do not take what we’re saying as the market has changed-its still choppy. Legend just had a few great weeks!
THE FUN SHOW
We are ready! Overall, we can’t imagine there will be ton of cool coins available as we have not heard of any major deals breaking or anyone dealer doing really at the services recently. Unless dealers stored a few goodies away, expect to see the same old over priced retreads for the most part. As we mentioned before, even the FUN Auction was weaker then usual in the amount of cool, fresh, pieces it has to offer. In away, this mini slow down is very good for the overall market. Last FUN Auction really drenched supply and hurt the market for a few months. We think this year more collectors will attend with a wait and see attitude. There two HUGE auctions scheduled within 30 days of FUN-The Reynolds Collection or Early Copper and ROUND III of Pogue.
Do not expect to get crazy money if your going to sell. While we all need cool coins. On the bourse floor money is still tight. Unless you have a really special coin that is super high end and has been away for years (not 1-2 years) expect average prices (meaning a price just less then the coin can be replaced at). To get “auction prices”, you have to put the coins in an auction-but remember you won’t get the 17.5 buyers fee!
We have viewed most of the FUN Auction. If you seek representation, please email Laura Sperber direct: lsperber1@hotmail.com. All requests for representation MUST be in our office no later then January 4th.
Legend and Legend Auctions will be located at tables 720 and 722. We are eager buyers and we’ll have a spectacular inventory offering as well. Stop by, we’d love to see you!
NEWPS
We did not want to over do things, so we made this a smaller NEWPS offering. Plus, we took  a few “old friends” and relisted them at fresher prices. Highlights include: two stand out extremely rare MS Seated Dollars (both ex Legend, both second finest known):
$1 1846O PCGS MS64 CAC
$1 1855 PCGS MS64 CAC
Every coin listed is of such outstanding quality and eye appeal they would be highlights anywhere else (especially the MONSTER 10C 1913 PCGS PR67 Cameo CAC)!
Note: we possible we do supply the coin cert number if there is an image to look up at PCGS. Sorry, we cannot hold coins waiting for images.
LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTIONS
First we need to note: someone somewhere (a major reporting site) picked up our auction prices realized and printed them all wrong (they printed only hammer). We are working to get that fiasco fixed-allow a week or so.
We’re still buzzing over the success from our recent Regency 15 Sale. Again, we sincerely thank everyone who participated.
