NOT MUCH NEW
May turned out to be a great month. We finished with really strong sales.
We see a small trend developing: NEW collectors are starting to buy. Not many, but in the past 30 days we have started on several amazing projects. In our opinion, this is even more proof we are at the bottom or end of the downward cycle of the past 3 years. The top end million dollar plus coins however, are not done slumping to a degree. But then those were the very last to start heading south.
There is no change in quality coins being available. About 95% of ALL of the Pogue coins are safely OFF THE MARKET. You don’t see many Gardner or Newman coins either. Wanna see some fireworks? Watch the fresh gold deal in Goldberg-we predict all the top coins sell for record prices and not a single one will be bought by any dealer for resale. We say things like this over and over because we need to show the reality of the market. If the market was weak or bad, Pogue coins would go begging, and you would see more Gardner and Newman coins for sale. The supply of true GEM fresh coins is slim. In fact, if you shop around, you can not find many PCGS CAC coins offered of any denomenation or rarity. Two reasons, demand is heavy for true quality, and the bean rate is not high overall (we are staring to to post some % next to coins we feel have correct numbers). These are just two reasons why when nice coins do come around, they are snapped up at pretty big premiums.
What you can buy is all the dreck you want. Want to buy a marginal MS 66 Saint? You can buy that for 50% LESS then a solid graded non messed with one! These coins are just getting cheaper and cheaper. The only time we will give in and say they are good buys-is when generics are basically at “melt” (which did happen once last year). Ditto Type and most other coins that are dreck sell for cents on the dollar. Those coins we can’t recommend at any price (that’s just how we roll). Sadly, dreck HAS pulled down many great coin values. BUT, collectors are wising up and are now stretching more because prices have fallen so cheap. These days, if you pass on a great coin, chances you WILL miss it-and not get another chance for an extremely long time.

This week we are highlighting 8 coins from a magnificent set of Walkers Legend was exclusively building for a very picky customer. In this group are a few out of this world rarities in out of this world condition. The ONLY reason why the collector is selling-he is working on a really incredible new project that has stolen his heart and attention.
We threw 2 other NEWPS in for a change. The $10 1897 is really spectacular while the 1882CC $1-is a 66.9+++!!!!!
ROUND II of this magnificent Walker Collection hopefully will be ready in a week. The coins are out being imaged then need to go back to CAC. Again, we can’t stress enough, we started to build a world class collection. these are NOT so/so coins!
