BETTER ATTITUDES
Maybe its just all the East Coast people we have run into already. We are writing this from the lot viewing room at Legend Auctions at the Marriott in Beverly Hills CA. Yesterday we were packed from noon until 4 PM! Today we’re starting off slow, but people are now coming in. Still every dealer from the East Coast is commenting on how nice the weather and their overall biz is. You can sense a positive attitude here.
Much to our surprise, things have been very solid since the FUN Show. This past week, Legend sold several coins over $50,000.00 (all unexpected) and one six figure coin that was a total fluke (it was a Want List coin someone called us with). Prices were not a problem at all. Even more to our surprise, cash was available by many people to buy. No one was really asking for terms. Here too, we suspected with FUN being so strong collectors would be choked for cash. We wuz wrong again! This is a rare case it is good to be wrong.
It will also be very interesting to see what impact gold breaking $1,300.00 will have. If dealers can move a lot of dead gold, the could end up strong buyers on more generics or even better coins. Just like feeling good about the weather, if dealers feel good about their biz and the market, they will spend. We believe prices WILL rise for better generics and nice gold at the show (if you can find any).
Wet think Long Beach will be okay (vs weak). Even though it is only 2 weeks after FUN.
We will make this very clear; LEGEND NUMISMATICS IS STILL BUYING! What do you have? SEE US AT LONG BEACH. The better the coin, the better the quality (CAC), and if its on a Want List, no one will pay more then us! Sorry, low grade widgets and dreck are not our market. We pay “market” for lesser coins. We will buy an entire collection though to get to a great coin or two.

A note, unlike other dealers ships, we are NOT a Walmart and buying at bid or below. This is NOT what Legend is or has ever been about. We buy our coins one at a time based on quality. To buy quality like we do today, we have to pay strong. The Walmart type dealers of today are not where you want to go to build a world class collection. We do work on low mark ups-which is why when we post coins that say BEST PRICE-we mean it!

Only 24 hours to until sales time. We are swamped with new registrants and the eye balls on the sale are about to hit an all time record for any auction we have held.
We expect this to be a very strong sale. There will be several coins we expect to see record prices on. Since we do not really have “boring stuff”, we think most coins will sell strong-especially if they are CAC. Keep in mind, about 5-8 major dealers look at our coins. So not much if any ever falls through the cracks (our sales are really not for bottom feeders).
