A highlight of the Naples III DMPL set. This coin is closer to MS67 DMPL then MS66! Keep in mind, these coins typically come with shallow mirrors-and this coin is way superior.

This coin was purchased from the 05/2019 Legend Auctions sale for $18,800.00. There were multiple bidders on the coin. Here is the description:

WOW! What a fantastic DMPL 82-CC dollar!

The beaming, reflective mirrors are stunning quality! What a great coin, and clearly the quality is off the charts! Tied for second finest graded, there is just a single MS67 DMPL graded finer at PCGS. The fields are flashy and blinding with bold and deep Prooflike mirrors in the fields. The fields offer a strong clarity with clear reflection at 8++++”. The devices are fully struck and highly frosted, creating a CAMEO like appearance. Any of ticks are very small, totally insignificant, but they do get exaggerated by the reflective and frosted textures of the fields and devices. The eye appeal, technical quality, and everything else are all high end and very desirable!

PCGS 84, NGC 3, CAC 8. There are just five in 66+ DMPL at PCGS, and the only one to sell was the one in the February 2014 Long Beach auction for $16,450. The collector’s Universe price is $19,000 and keep in mind the sole MS67 DMPL sold in our October 2015 Regency Auction for $27,025 and is NOT CAC, making this SUPERB GEM tied for FINEST at CAC. What a great coin for the advanced collector and worthy of a very strong bid.

The contrast on this coin is like what you’d see on a killer 80S! If a PCGS CAC MS67 DMPL existed, it would be worth well in excess of $50,000.00. But NONE exist! This is the one of the very BEST 1882-CC’s you can ever buy!
