Immaculate surfaces are a joy to behold. Only on the reverse can you find some FAINT adjustment lines. There are no hits or scrapes anywhere. There is a modest luster. A totally original and GEM deep antique silver toning evenly covers both sides. There are no dark patches or discolorations. You can clearly see where the plug is. Overall, Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and the wear is light. The eye appeal is remarkable-especially for a 229 year old coin!
PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 1. CAC has only beaned 2 coins finer (AU 55+58). Neither of those finer coins has been on the market in many years. This coin’s last auction appearance was in 2011. Somehow there is a current Collectors Universe value of $125,000.00. We Think for such a historical and rare coin that number is too cheap. You can NOT replace this coin if you seek a choice piece.
