1824 $5 Gold Capped Head 1813 – 1829 PCGS MS62 (CAC)
Housed in an older blue tag holder. This is a seriously fresh to the market VERY HIGH-END coin. We jumped at the chance to buy it-without quibbling!
Remarkable surfaces are joy to behold. There are some tiny, scattered pinpoint ticks that you can only see with a glass. To the naked eye the surfaces look clean and sleek. The luster is surprisingly strong and is more of a glowing type. Both sides are a brilliant yellow gold color. There are NO stains or spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is outstanding!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. CAC has only beaned 4 coins higher. This coin is fresh to market and has not appeared in auction (that we are aware of). Somehow, there is a current Collectors universe value is $125,000.00. The extreme rarity of this date in ANY grade cannot be overstated. If you are building a choice Bust $5 set or a choice box of 20, this coin is a must!
