1839-O $2.50 Gold Classic Head PCGS AU55 (CAC) A SUPERB GEM AU!

No question this coin is a VERY HIGH END piece. We do NOT see much wrong with it at all. Note: we do not designate just any coin a SUPERB GEM AU. For sure, this coin is!

Above average surfaces have nothing that stands out. We used a strong glass saw only tiny and widely scattered ticks. The reverse has some thin die cracks. The originality of this coin is unquestionable. Both sides are a GEM original deeper gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details have very light and even wear. The eye appeal is really nice!

PCGS 28, NGC 70, CAC 7. The current price guides are way off on this piece from AU50 on up (CU is only $12,500.00 in AU55). We assure you, we are working close here! Look at what you get: a great quality coin, a coin from an obsolete Mint, it’s 185 years old, it’s struck in gold, and it is a denomenation that longer exists. In our opinion, this coin should be worth so much more! Not a coin that appears in any frequency.
