1839-O $2.50 Gold Classic Head PCGS MS62+ (CAC)

As usual PCGS showed no mercy to this magnificent piece. We don’t just grade it a +., we grade it a +++!

Remarkable surfaces are super clean and smooth. Only when using a strong glass can you find a few light scattered frost breaks and lines. The surfaces almost resemble those you’d find on a commoner $2.5 Liberty. A soft glowing like luster radiates from all over. Both sides are a GEM original gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and stand out. This coin is knocking on MS63’s door! The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 11, NGC 16, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only this coin as an MS62+. CAC has beaned only 6 finer. The current Collectors Universe value is $45,000.00. It should be noted higher graded coins simply have not appeared on the market for many years. We think this piece is so historical being from the now obsolete New Orleans Mint. Plus, it has great quality and eye appeal!
