1844-D $2.50 Gold Liberty PCGS MS62+ (CAC)

This is one bad a** coin! If we collected C or D mints or were building a $2.5 set, we’d keep it. Never saw anything like it!

We believe this coin was lightly dipped a long time ago. There are light semi-prooflike mirrors. The surfaces have just a few tiny and light intermittent ticks. There is a small copper stain in the right obverse you need a glass to see. The luster is intense. Both sides are a brilliant yellow gold color. Miss Liberty and the details do have some weakness in strike (that is as struck) which is typical for D Mint coins. The eye appeal will blow you away!

PCGS 8, NGC 7, CAC 3. This is the only 62+ PCGS has graded. There is no auction record. We paid the price for this coin because it is so awesome, and it is the highest graded 44-D by CAC. The published values for this coin are not up to date (the last MS62 that sold was back in 2011). Opportunity knocks so loud here!
