1853-D $5 Gold Liberty No Motto Large D PCGS MS64+ (CAC)
$97,500.00
Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer a coin we consider to be a grand highlight for any C+D Mint collector. This coin as far as we are concerned, is a full GEM!
Struck from slightly rusty dies, this coin has no imperfections other than striking issues. With a strong glass, you can see numerous raised die polishing lines. There are NO scuffs or ticks anywhere. No question this coin has totally original skin. A marvelous and strong luster beams boldly from all over. Both sides are a GEM original deeper gold with pale greenish gold by the peripheries. There are NO spots or discolorations and this is not a dirty coin. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is phenomenal!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 2. PCGS has graded possibly 2 coins in MS64+ with NONE higher. There is no record of this or even any MS64 ever selling via auction. This coin being one of the very finest survivors period from the Dahlonega Mint seems valued cheap at below $100,000,00. You certainly can’t replicate it-and there are very few D Mint survivors in MS63 or finer. There has been far less appearance of this coin than an 1804 $1!
We do view this coin as an opportunity of a lifetime!
