1860-S $2.50 Gold Liberty PCGS MS63 (CAC)

The extreme rarity of this coin can not be overstated. We believe this coin is the second finest known. The quality is outstanding! Coins like this just do not appear any more (this is a very fresh coin to market).

There is nothing serious to be found. Only when using a strong glass can you find some lines and tiny ticks. For a 164 year old coin, the luster is remarkable and is VERY strong. Surprisingly, this is a two tone coin. Totally original shades of deeper yellow gold mix with pale shades of orange gold. Miss Liberty and the details are above average in strike (The S Mints of the 1860’s generally have weaker strikes). The eye appeal is wonderful!

PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 1. This coin last sold via auction in 2016 (8 years ago) for $16,100.00. The current Collectors Universe value is $23,500.00 (a bit low we think). There is one coin graded higher-a PCGS CAC MS64 which is locked up in a major collection (we know the collector-great set). This coin is a tremendous opportunity to acquire an Early and SUPER RARE Civil War era coin that has been off the market for many years. Plus, being the highest CAC you can acquire, makes a huge difference.
