OMG!!! What a stunning example of a hard-to-find Civil War date. This “old friend” is incredible!
How did this coin last so perfect over 160 years? We used a strong glass and looked at it over and over and found ZERO imperfections. A strong luster illuminates the killer original colors. A thick band of navy/pale violet colors open into deep champagne centers then to a small area of creamy white. Miss Liberty and the details stand out with crisp full strikes and lots of frost. The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 4, NGC 3, CAC 3. The last PCGS CAC to sell in auction brought $22,325.00 07/2020 (NOT this coin). For us to place it w/Simpson (originally Law) it had to a great coin. No question this coin is one of the very best!
