1906 $5 Gold Liberty With Motto PCGS MS67 (CAC)

A coin that clearly was sent from numismatic heaven! If this has been in an MS68 holder, we would not have flinched. We did submit it for a + (we make NO promises). PCGS was nasty here!

Virtually perfect surfaces are something you just do NOT see anymore-and this coin sure has them! of course they are of a semi satiny texture. There is a small grease mark hidden in the reverse lettering-maybe that is why PCGS did not give it a + or an MS68? The luster is soft but glowing. Both sides enjoy a warm shade of totally original yellow gold that mixes with some pale greenish gold by the rims. There are no spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is fabulous!

PCGS 12, NGC 9, CAC 7 (we doubt 7 really exist). Both the current auction and published prices do NOT reflect reality as they are from 2017. We bought this amazing coin right and are not seeking to get rich on it.

A perfect coin for a box of 20, a Type set, or for the collector who likes better gold. Now for sure (as gold percolates) is the time to put away a great coin like this!
