1909-S 1C Small Cent Lincoln, Wheat Rev VDB PCGS MS66RD+ (CAC)
$42,500.00
There is no such thing as a finer MS66+ RD. Why PCGS did not grade it a MS67 RD, we don’t know. We grade the coin at 66.9+-and we mean it (but make NO promises).
Absolutely PERFECT surfaces adorn both sides. We used a strong glass and really looked at this coin for several minutes. We are in total awe of its quality. There are no spots or discolorations. The luster is super strong and radiates well from all over. Both sides are a GEM ORIGINAL MINT RED! Lincoln and all of the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is phenomenal!
PCGS 265, NGC 39, CAC 33. PCGS has graded 31 in MS66+ RD-and we’d bet at least half don’t come close to this coin’s amazing quality. Our good friend Tom Benders coin (which was really nice) just sold for $45,600.00. THIS COIN IS AT THE VERY LEAST ITS EQUAL OR IS A TOUCH FINER THAN HIS! The current price guides are all way off for a coin like this.
Now the special part, this was David Akers’ personal coin. He sold it to the collector to show him how they should come. Akers may have had a name in gold coins, he was no slouch on rare coins in general. If you seek a SUPER HIGH END GEM )9S VDB and don’t want to pay $250,000.00-this is your coin!
Sorry about the weak image. This coin in hand is a full luster bomb and is amazing!
