1911-S $5 Gold Indian Head PCGS MS64+ (CAC)

We are thrilled to own this borderline GEM example. PCGS showed it no mercy!

Seriously above average surfaces are surprisingly clean and smooth to the naked eye. Even when using a strong glass, all we found was a tiny frost break on the reverse. The luster is typical for the date-moderate. Both sides are an original even gold color. There are no spots or discolorations on the highpoints. All of the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 25, NGC 15, CAC 5 (w/only 3 higher). PCGS has graded only 4 in MS64+. The last PCGS CAC example to sell via auction brought $23,400.00 12/2021. The current Collectors universe value is $25,000.00. We can tell you, in BOTH the Simpson Collection and Half Dome amazingly an 11-S was the last coin we needed to complete those sets. This is a grossly UNDERrated date and grade!
