We had to own this tremendous example of a popular and underrated date Lincoln Cent in GEM RD. For sure, the quality is VERY HIGH END!
No question this coin was carefully stored since it left the Mint 110 years ago. The surfaces are remarkably clean and emit an above average luster. We used a strong glass and looked all over and found zero problems. This coin is fleck free, Only when using a strong glass, can u find a microscopic toning dot and a splash of light toning. The color is a GEM Original Mint Red. Lincoln and all the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 70, NGC 17, CAC 16. PCGS has graded 12 in MS65+ RD. Do NOT be fooled by the pops. The last example of a PCGS MS65+ RD CAC to sell via auction brought $52,800.00 05/2023. The lone PCGS MS66RD CAC sold for $200,000.00 a few years ago. No question this coin ranks among the BEST 1914-D 1C!
