WELCOME TO SUMMER!

SUMMER DOLDRUMS?

We don’t think so. Only once before in our history do we remember a summer time around July 4th as active (about 15 years ago).

Coins were not being sold fast and furious, but we did sell some great coins. Our $5 1838 PCGS MS65 CAC (list $119,500.00) was sold as well at lots of gold (duh) and even some old friends. Even as we were leaving at 4:30 Friday we had a $90,000.00 Type coin (NO GOLD) sale in the works (we seem to always do deals late Fridays). There seems to be a group of collectors totally reawakened who want to beat the crowd while prices are still really cheap.

We listed a group of cheaper gold on Saturday. By Sunday it was all sold. Obviously collectors realize how beaten down generics and BETTER coins are. With gold prices still climbing, they know prices for everything will rise soon. They have already started a very slow climb. Plus, EVERYONE can see ALL supplies of better gold and generic gold (especially CAC) are not just tight-but now with a little demand, they are non existent.

Also, we were told at the Summer FUN Show in Florida, a few big dealers suddenly swooped in looking to buy. We had our “secret stealth” seller there who was telling us from day one it was a very good show (Summer Fun usually is not so good). He also told us, he had not sold to any of the big guys, he hit all the smaller local dealers-and they actually needed coins. So the food chain of demand is at all levels right now.

Unless gold and silver crash in a week, we see no change with this slow upward momentum. It is still summertime and there are still many people NOT paying attention. When all that real powerful interest does come back, then you will see some serious price/value increases. We strongly believe right now is the LAST phase of a buyers market. The smart money is acting like that too. BUY COINS NOW (we’re not hyping anything). We make that statement about timing. If this were October and gold and silver were running the same, we assure you, you’d be seeing much stronger and larger price jumps.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE BALTIMORE SHOW-stop by our table  643 . We’ll be there to buy and sell! We suggest you get there early, as we know supplies of cool coins will be very limited.

NEWPS

Again, we got lucky and found some cheap gold-STILL CHEAP. We would be surprised if we still have our new gold listings on Monday afternoon. Good luck going to any show and finding PCGS CAC gold reasonable!

We do not have any wild gonzo coins to highlight this week. Stay tuned next week after the Baltimore Show. However, EVERY coin we have posted in our NEWPS, was handpicked for its outstanding qualities and eye appeal. We do especially LOVE the J-470 PCGS PR65 Washington pattern (in old pancake holder).
