GEORGE HUANG UPDATE

Legend Numismatics and George Huang thanks every one for the huge out pouring of support, prayers, and well wishes during this tough time. As many of you know, George suffered an acute heart attack last Friday while at work. He was the last person you’d ever think to have one. According to the doctors he got to the hospital just in time.

We are relieved to say he is now home and is on the mend...

THE LAS VEGAS PCGS INVITATIONAL

A NOTE FROM LAURA SPERBER

Do know this is one of the toughest reports for me to write. George Huang, the co founder of Legend and my business partner for 31 years had a very serious heart attack Friday. He is currently in Intensive Care Unit in a NJ hospital. George always did everything within his power to stay healthy-this comes as a huge shock to everyone. He is 55 years old...

THE 1804 $1.00 DEXTER/POUGE COIN

POST BALTIMORE SHOW

Legend Numismatics did all time record business of  $10-$12,000,000.00 starting March the 27th and ending April 7th. We spent about $9,000,000.00 buying and representing people in BOTH Blue Moon and The Pogue Sale. Activity this past week in the office was off the charts and we are still counting it all up! We could have sold 5 1869 $1 PCGS PR64 Cameo CAC (one collector even offered us MORE then the listed price)!..

THE BALTIMORE SHOW

As always Mary Counts and team work really hard to make Baltimore a friendly and good show to attend. This show attendance was moderate-how ever due to the auctions many world class buyers were roaming the floor...

NICE WEEK

We did not figure to do much business this past week. Adding it all up-we certainly did do far more then expected. And we had our usual Friday afternoon Sale (the $1 1864 PCGS PR65 CAC). For whatever reason Fridays at 3-4 PM we always seem do a bigger sale of some kind.

Very interesting what sold during the week...

EARLY SPRING REPORT

CAN’T WAIT ANOTHER DAY!

Monday spring finally comes around. Last weeks blizzard made us deeply regret not living in a warmer climate. In fact, the cold and snow slowed everything down-including our market(sort of). The weather guys are now crowing more snow for the weekend!

We had been selling like gangbusters until Tuesday when the blizzard hit.  From Tuesday until now Saturday AM)  as this report is being written,..

IS THE COIN MARKET GOOD OR BAD?

Can’t believe what was on a chatroom about this subject. Several “mouthpieces” feel the market is not so good. We want to know why in the heck they would say that? Legend is and NEVER has been one to hype things. Read our prior Market Reports and you will see we actually say when things are slow or what ever...

FINAL FEBRUARY REPORT

WHAT AN EXPLOSIVE WEEK

BOOM goes the dynamite! What a week we had. It was like going from 0 to 80 in 4 seconds.

Legend Numismatics was on a tear this past week. We sold THREE six figure coins, several coins in the mid five figures,  and lots of coins between $1,000.00-$10,000.00 off our web site. Even at 2-4PM Friday when we have a mini selling phenomenon every week,..

A QUIET WEEK

Not sure what happened.  Maybe it was the bad weather or people are getting ready for the Long Beach Show and Auctions.  We had a very quiet week every which way save for one Want List (found a six figure coin).  We did six figures in sales, but the action was spotty at best (call us spoiled)...

PRE SUPER BOWL WEEK

EVERYONE WATCHES FOOTBALL

Okay, maybe for a few hours on Sunday the coin community with go really quiet. It will be the first time in a few weeks (actually since the election) that collectors were preoccupied. However, we are confident that by the time the many Internet Auctions start to close Sunday night, the bidders will be there and will be aggressive as usual.-especially those who won their bets on the game!..

GREAT COINS DO BRING GREAT PRICES!

IT MIGHT BE WINTER BUT THE HEAT IS ON!

Last week was a highly unexpected STRONG week. We had decent sales off our web site, really strong sales off our Want Lists,  and a few big “lucky” sales.

The “switch” as we like to call it has been on for a few months for buying. Clearly collectors (at least the ones we deal with) still have HUGE appetites for better coins in great conditions...

MID JANUARY REPORT

ANOTHER GOOD WEEK

We are very pleased to see activity is still what we call “perky”. The only real slack we saw was at FUN itself with the lack of a retail crowd (of our caliber). Overall, collectors are out starting new projects and buying in general.

This past week we sold several five figure coins (including the $1 1795 PCGS AU55 and the $1 1883 PCGS MS66+ DMPL),..

FUN SHOW REPORT

Legend Numismatics wishes to thank everyone for their concerns. The airport shooting was horrific. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

We were never in harms way, however we were right outside the location of the suspected second shooting in a garage as it happened. It was unnerving and just a scene of pure chaos. Swat teams and FBI tactical all around us with weapons drawn. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time...
