The surfaces are immaculate and are velvety smooth. There actually is a trace of genuine luster around the devices. The fields are slightly glossy-we do not think this coin was camel brushed or messed with. Both sides are an even slightly deeper chocolate color. There are a few pinpoint stains that you really need a glass to see. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and have gentle frost. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 4, NGC 5, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only ONE higher. Before we bought it, this coin sold for $7,637.00 08/2014 Heritage. This is not a date or grade you encounter much at all in MS63 or higher. In fact prior to 2014, NONE were sold at auction since early 2010! This piece will be a wonderful addition to GEM Type or Half Cent set.
