A good friend of ours purchased this from one of the smartest “crackout” dealers in the biz. The coin did not make MS66 so the guy gave up and sold it to our friend-who knew we’d be all over it. Its not just a story-all you have to do is see the coin!
Shimmering highly lustrous surfaces have a faint trace of semi-prooflike mirrors. There are just a few teeenie frost breaks and lines that keep this coin from MS66-most of which are NOT visible to the naked eye. The color is a gorgeous pinkish gold. Of course there are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are froted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is awesome!
PCGS 9, NGC 25, CAC 2. We doubt the pops are correct as we doubt the “crackout” dealer ever turned his tags in. PCGS has graded only 6 coins higher.
The last PCGS coin to appear in major auction was back in 1999! Even back then the coin brought $3,270.00. The last NGC coin was auctioned in 2008 for $2,990.00. Looks like opportunity knocks loud here!
