This is the first truly semi-prooflike 1886 MS piece we have handled. Its pretty neat!
You can see numerous die polishing lines under a strong glass. It is definitely a Mint State coin. Overall, the surfaces are VERY clean. An intense luster shows off the light mirrors and even nickel color. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and are well struck. The eye appeal is pretty cool!
PCGS 33, NGC 26, CAC 4. NO PCGS/CAC pieces have sold in auctions. A NON CAC piece sold for $6,038.00 04/12 Heritage. If your building a set of these in MS, you know what a “stopper” this date is in MS65 and higher.
