The beauty of this coin is incomparable! Too bad this design was never adopted. this coin is a R-4 (76-200 minted). It is also made in bronze.
This particular coin is noted as being an Original. Save for some Mint made planchet issues, this coin is easily a PR65+. Amazing deep, crystal clear, and incredibly reflective mirrors highlight both sides. interestingly, the planchet issues include: bold die clashing on both sides, and a flake in the upper left obverse. The colors are a stunning copper/golden brown/pale blue. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and boldly stands out. The eye appeal is a total WOW!
Housed in an older green tag holder. Tied for finest known. PCGS 3, NGC 0. The 2009 Judd book values a PR65 at $8,000.00.
