Neat! One of the more popular designs for our coinage that was not accepted. Clearly, this piece was saved since it was minted and just sat somewhere undisturbed.
The highlight of this GEM is the Eagle. It is big, boldy struck, and problem free. The surfaces surrounding it are clean and do show hints of original mint red around the devices. The colors are a mix of deep brown, faded Mint red, and bluish purple. There are NO spots or discolorations. No question this specimen has never been messed with. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. At the price we are offering it at, we think this coin is a steal (just look at the numbers relating to this 154 year old GEM)! The NEW Judd book values a PR65 at $6,250.00. Opportunity knocks loud here!
