1C 1856 FE PCGS PR64
$21,500.00
Only the PR67 we bought and sold recently had mirrors close to this coin. We never ever see real mirrors on these!
We do unhesitatingly call this coin in the top 5% for the grade. There are NO spots-light toning stains should not be confused with spots. They are invisible to the naked eye (the pinpoint stains). We can not believe that both sides have real Silver Type like mirrors. On the reverse they are mostly covered by toning. The coin has a terrific rich copper/red color too (which is darker on the center of the reverse only). Every detail is sharply struck and has light frost. This is NOT your typical 1856 FE! The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 195, NGC 119, CAC 13. The last one of these to sell in a major auction (NON CAC) brought $18,400.00 3/11 Heritage. Prior to that one sold for $27,600.00 02/2011 Heritage. We have not handled one of these since early 2009. They are hard to find nice-let alone with real mirrors like this!
