We thought this coin was so high end, we even resubmitted it (not cracked) seeking an MS62. Struck and a surprisingly problem free planchet, this coin has smooth surfaces that are devoid of pitting or other typical issues. The luster is light and shows off the pretty even chocolate brown color. Miss Liberty and the details are rub free and have excellent strong strikes. The eye appeal is that of a much better coin.
PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. PCGS has about 10 graded higher (just about all of these are in major collections). CAC has stickered NONE higher. This coin has two recent auction histories: last it realized $117,875.00 04/2011, and prior $126,500.00 1/2009. We bought the coin again because we love it and are determined to place it in a great home.
