50C 1815/2 PCGS MS64+ COL GREEN/NEWMAN
$137,500.00
This and the H.10 1835 PCGS MS66 we have listed are the two coins Legend had to own. This date Bust Half has always fascinated (we have forever consider choice MS examples to be true classic rarities). when we first saw it we could not believe our eyes. Forever all we had seen were dark, drab, unsightly 1815/2’s that we didn’t made the grades assigned. We knew this coin was a real GEM!
We were thrilled to see this coin was not cleaned or dipped and then retoned. The surfaces do have an ORIGINAL satiny texture. You can also see some neat die lines and Mint made die clashing. There are NO problems visible. Only with a strong glass can you detect a few wispy light scattered lines. A monster and surprising full booming luster shows off incredible and totally ORIGINAL rings of royal blue/violet/gold that open into creamy off white centers. most important: Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have exceptional sharp and stand out strikes. The eye appeal is just awesome!
PCGS 2, NGC 7, CAC 2 (we think this is both coins). This is the ONLY MS64+ graded by PCGS or NGC. This incredible numismatic treasure is the fourth finest known 1815/2 (there is a NGC and PCGS MS65 and a NGC MS66+-which sold for $182,125.00 in 2012). It took PCGS all 25+ years of its operations to add another GEM to its count. Unless there is another discovery piece, the supply of 1815/2 Halves in GEM is extremely limited. We cannot stress enough how this coin represents the opportunity of a life time for any Bust Half Collector or someone who just buys wicked neat rarities.
Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this magnificent coin.
