$20 1924-D PCGS MS64+

$27,500.00

At first glance, this marvelous HIGH END piece looks like a commoner and colorful 1923-D. The ONLY GEM 1924-D we have ever seen with a similar look-is the MS66 in the Simpson Collection. We rank this coin a MS64.9+ and call it on fire! True GEM surfaces have a tiny tick or two scattered around. The surfaces are clearly NOT hacked up nor are there lines all over. There is still plenty of “original” satiny skin left. A surprisingly strong luster illuminates the surfaces. Both sides have a stunning mix of totally original gold/pinkish gold/orange gold colors. There are ZERO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details really stand out with crisp sharp strikes and light frost. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 174, NGC 91, CAC 14. PCGS has graded only 10 coins in MS64+. This piece is fresh to the market. Everything about it is full GEM save for the grade on the holder. Keep in mind, the last PCGS MS65 (a non CAC) sold for $70,500.00 09/2013. A PCGS CAC MS65 would easily bring $90-$100,000.00 today.  We did pay a premium for this coin because of its VERY high end qualities and killer colors. We have not owned any MS64 24D since 2012. It should be noted a similar looking 1925-D PCGS MS64 CAC (NO +)  just sold in the Baltimore auction for $31,200.00 (ALL Saints like this are strong). If you are a picky Saint Collector and or love color, this coin is a “must see”!
