1795 $1 Dollar Flowing Hair 3 Leaves BB-27 PCGS AU53 (CAC)

This is a very rare coin indeed. Not only is it rare, but we strongly feel it is one of the few Early Bust Dollars we have ever seen where it actually does not matter if it is in a holder or not. In our opinion (NO promises), this coin absolutely has claims to AU55. We won’t send it in, because we can’t imagine the baby graders of the day having much experience with this type of coin.

We can’t comment enough about the SUPER HIGH-END GEM AU quality. The surfaces defy the fact they are 230 years old. We used a strong glass, looked really hard all over, and could only find some very light and widely scattered ticks. Surprisingly, there is a good luster. Both sides are blessed by Mother Nature’s magical wand. Exciting and vivid powder blue/green/gold colors frame the peripheries. The centers are a deeper steel/pewter/deep champagne. ALL THE COLORS ARE TOTALLY ORIGINAL AND STAND OUT. This coin has NOT been messed with. We can not stress enough the rarity of the marvelously toned original 1795 Bust Dollar. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The wear is light and even. There are no discolorations. The eye appeal is phenomenal!

PCGS 37, NGC 25, CAC 5. CAC has only beaned 17 higher. None of the current price guides do this or any 1795 Bust Dollar any good. This was the coin that brought $45,600.00 in Stacks on 04/2024. We had placed it prior in the Mossman Collection in the 1990s. This coin is a keepsake type of piece-one that deserves to be in a long-term collection of a family or collector who can cherish it-like we do. Legend has handled many of the finest ever Bust Dollars. We can tell you as a fact, we have maybe seen only one or two with color like this-but in the higher grades. Our price is totally relevant to the quality of this SUPERB GEM AU coin.
