1899-S $5 Gold Liberty With Motto PCGS MS66 (CAC) A TREMENDOUS GEM!

First, absolutely this SUPERB GEM piece is VERY HIGH END. Its borders on “wonder coin” status.

Flashy semi-proofike mirrors dominate both sides. You do NOT have to imagine the near 4″ mirrors. The surfaces are clean and smooth. On the reverse a light band of deeper orange gold circles the peripheries. Both sides area GEM original yellow gold. There is a well hidden copper dot in the obverse stars (that also proves the coins originality). There light contrast. Miss Liberty and the details are almost razor sharp in strike (we think this is a very early strike). The eye appeal is spectacular!

PCGS 5, NGC 5, CAC 2. PCGS and CAC have graded NONE higher. Prior to the Simpson coin selling for a cheap $15,600.00 1/2025. And, the Simpson coin also sold for $24,000.00 04/2023. Ouch! The FUN sales was way too cheap. We bought this coin AFTER the sale paying more. The current Collectors universe value is $30,000.00. We’re still asking a lot less than what the Simpson coin originally sold for. THIS IS NOT THE SIMSPON COIN-the holder is a slightly older one. A great coin to add to ANY GEM $5 set or even a box of 20-its rarer, really rare (there is only 1 CAC MS 65).
