Now You See Them Now You Don’t

We cannot say enough how many coins UNDER $10,000.00 are selling. We predict after next week’s Baltimore Show, an amazing amount of coins will trade hands. The majority will be under $10,000.00. That does not mean coins over $10,000.00 are not selling-they are. When gold broke $3,000.00, the entire coin market started to perk up a tiny bit. Demand for coins has clearly increased. We see the stronger demand from the fact that a couple of world-class buyers are now attending the show Tuesday and Wednesday. We know we have four appointments with the biggest of the buyers.

Fair warning! What you see on our website—especially a lot of the Eastern Shore Collection—probably won’t last past the show. Ditto for many other dealers (unless they are greedy). And if you think you’re going to buy cheap in the upcoming auctions, forget about it!

Like every other gold bug, we see gold slipping a little then going on its merry way to $3,500.00. There are no guarantees that will happen. One thing we do see is that gold is very much in demand. The last 3 months, the market has been exceedingly dry of better coins, period (silver included). Gold breaking $3,000.00 seems to have awakened the coin market. Let’s see how far it goes and how long it lasts. We are cautiously optimistic.
