1813 $5 Gold Capped Head 1813 – 1829 PCGS MS64 (CAC)

$65,000.00

What a remarkable coin. No question this coin has HIGH-END qualities!

Overall, the surfaces have a few microscopic ticks/light scuffs scattered around (which probably is what keeps this from a full MS65 grade). The coin does appear clean and smooth overall. We do feel the surfaces are still GEM quality. The surfaces also have a thick, satiny texture. A decent luster shows off the beautiful and totally original, deeper gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and every detail are sharply struck and have loads of frost. The eye appeal is neat!

PCGS 57, NGC 23, CAC 18. CAC has beaned 4 coins higher. The last two examples to be sold via major auctions were $66,000.00 in 01/2025 and $69,000.00 in 09/2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $65,000.00. We cannot emphasize enough how phenomenal it is to own this piece. It’s only 212 years old!
